The community is welcome to drop in to play chess with others in the Senior Center Recreation Lobby. Each month the Loveland Chamber hosts community conversations around current topics in the community. Issues on Tap, Civic Conversations: 4:30-6 p.m. Friday and Saturday through March 5, Loveland Public Library, 300 N. “Visions of a Young Artist” Thompson School District Student Art Show on Display: 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Thompson School District students will be recognized for their art and written work. The Mokomba Ensemble will demonstrate traditional and current West African dance and drumming. Candace Oate, vice president and co-founder of Obesity Awareness in Action, will lead the event, and Ashley Grice, the senior diversity, equity and inclusion consultant for the University of Colorado Boulder, will be keynote speaker. Heart and Sol of Loveland will present the free, family-friendly celebration. Monday, Mountain View High School, 3500 Mountain Lion Drive, Loveland. Loveland’s Martin Luther King Jr Day Celebration: 6 p.m. Benefits Foster & Adoptive Families of Larimer County.

The event includes competition with Clydesdale, Percheron and Belgian horses that pull historically restored wagons and navigate a series of maneuvers. Big Thunder Draft Horse Show: 1 p.m., Mac Equipment Indoor Arena at the Ranch Events Complex, 5280 Arena Circle, Loveland.
